Breeder – Selected at the University of Idaho Aberdeen Research and Extension Center in 1977; released by USDA and the Agricultural Experiment Stations of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Colorado in 19911,2,3,4,5

Usage – Great for French frying because of the lack of after-cooking discoloration1,2,3,4,5 and fresh market1,5
Plant – Large, upright to spreading habit with medium, thick, green stems that look light brown with red-purple pigmentation in full sun1,3 and have medium wavy wings1
Leaves – Large, broad, open, medium green1,2,3,5 with slightly pigmented midribs; terminal leaflets are oval with pointed tips and bluntly rounded bases1,2; three to four pairs of ovate primary leaflets; three to four pairs of secondary leaflets and up to three pairs of tertiary leaflets1
Flowers – Abundant, medium to large, red-violet with bright yellow anthers1,2,3; produce moderate amounts of pollen1
Tubers – Long, slightly flattened with medium russeted brown skin1,2,3,5; white flesh; medium deep eyes with slight prominent eyebrows that are well distributed across tuber1,2,3; medium tuber dormancy1,2,3,5; high specific gravity1,2,5
Strengths – Has lower reducing sugars at harvest and throughout storage resulting in lighter fry color1; very resistant to heat necrosis, hollow heart, Verticillium wilt, metribuzin exposure and potato virus X and Y; moderately resistant to early blight, common scab, potato leafroll virus and Fusarium dry rot1,2,3,5
Weaknesses – Susceptibility to blackspot bruises, late blight, and root-knot nematode1,2,4; moderately susceptible to growth cracks1,3,5
